Fill in the Blank Friday


1.  The last thing I do before going to sleep is  check both of my alarms to make sure they are set (one is on my iphone) and then check them one last time.

2.  When I can't sleep I toss around a lot and watch TV.

3.  The first thing I do when I wake up is  straight to the bathroom to go to the bathroom and then weigh myself (I know I shouldn't weigh myself everyday but I can't help it, I take what the scales says lightly though.

4.  When I'm tired I  get moody and then if I get super tired I get really really silly and some have said I have a scary laugh when this happens.

5.  My dream bedroom would have  lots of big windows, a bay window with a bench, a way to keep light out of the windows for lazy weekend mornings, a big bed with lots of pillows and maybe a black and white motif with some blues.

6.  If I could wake up anywhere tomorrow morning it would be would be in Bora Bora in one of those little huts that sits over the water (you know the same thing that Ali was in on her fantasy dates in the Bachelorette). 

7.  The longest sleep I've ever had was probably when I was in Middle School and had a lock out with my youth group (you know where you stay out all night doing scavenger hunts, Chinese fire drills, bowling and then your mom picks you up and you are super cranky from not sleeping).
 

8.  I sleep on my side all curled up.

9.  When I sleep, I like to wear  super soft pajama pants with a t-shirt or tank top.

10.  My bedtime is usually for a week night somewhere between 10 and 11 or if I'm being really crazy midnight.

I maintained this week. I can think of a few reasons why but they are all just speculation.  I worked out 5 times this week and all my workouts were pretty intense. Because of that my muscles have been really tight and sore. They use to say muscle soreness was because a build up of lactic acid but I think I read recently that they do not think that is the case anymore. So I guess I can't blame fluids in my muscles? I stayed under points this week but I did eat some of my activity points. Maybe I need to eat less of my weekly points and not dip into my activity points?

I'm hoping that this weeks efforts will show up next week on the scale. My workouts this week were a Cardio Jam class, 2 Zumba Classes, a Step Aerobics class, and  Body Combat class. I am all about the classes lately but I need to get back to running too. It's been too hot to run outside and I find the treadmill to be oh so boring.

Sunday Funday

Early Sunday morning Matt took off for a week of traveling for work.  I was super productive yesterday. There is something about being home alone that makes me get things done that I have been putting off.  Maybe it is because I have no one to distract me or maybe it is because I kept telling myself  “Oh I’ll do that when Matt is gone to X Games”.    

Anyway yesterday morning I woke up and went to a Step Aerobics class at my new gym.  I was a little
skeptical going in because the last Step class I went to was high impact and I think it’s what spur my stress fracture in my foot. I decided to try the class out and to take it easy if they started to do a lot of high impact moves. I got to the class and was surprised to find that I was the youngest person there.  I would say the average age of the group was 60 years old.  I was like this is going to be so easy. If the senior citizens can do it then it will be no problem for me. Ha was I wrong!

I could keep up physically with the class but I could not keep up with the routines and moves.  The instructor was all over the place. I just kept moving and tried to fake it that I knew what I was doing.  I didn’t do a good job of faking it though because at the first water break a man who must have been in his 80’s was like “Are you keeping up okay? I know it can be tricky.” I was like great the guy who could be my grandfather is concerned for me.  The class only got trickier and I only got more lost. As soon I was beginning to catch on to a routine she moved on to the next one. And then to my horror at the end she put all the routines together. That was just kind of a joke really. I just hopped around and pretended like I did not care that I couldn’t keep up. In reality I didn’t really care that much. I mean I went to get a good workout and I did get one. I was just as sweaty and worn out as the other people in the room. 

At the end of the class though I realized the instructor was a substitute. It made me think maybe the regular instructor is easier to keep up with? I had written off going to that class again but now I’m thinking I might give it another go? What do you guys think should I try it again or just go to the Pilates/ Tai Chi/ Yoga class that is after it instead?   

The rest of my Sunday Funday I cleaned my bathroom, bedroom, grocery shopped, did dishes, laundry, organized a bunch of my child hood stuff my mom made me take from her house, and I even mopped Matt’s bathroom floor. After all the work I decided to reward myself with going to see Toy Story 3. It was really good and I found myself laughing and even tearing up at one point. Hey don't judge until you have seen the movie. The best part was that I was solo so no one was there to witness the one or two tears that might have fallen.

Good morning! I guess I can say I'm consistent with last week in that I lost 1 lb this week. I feel like it's slow but it's going in the right direction and it's a healthy amount to loose. If I can continue to loose 1 pound a week until my wedding in May that will be 43 pounds in addition to the 12 I already lost would be a total of 55 pounds!

This week I had 3 workouts which is weak. I did a yoga class, a body combat class (kickboxing), and a long beach walk on Saturday. The beach was great this weekend! It was so nice to go and relax with Matt. To end the weekend we stopped by my sister's to hang out with my niece and nephew. I took a nap with my nephew because he did not want to nap by himself and you do not have to twist my arm to take a nap on a Sunday afternoon. Also I could not turn down the chance to snuggle with the little guy.  After nap time and a little garbage truck playing it was time for Matt and I to get home. I almost didn't leave because Alex kept saying "No Nini, no!" (I'm Aunt Nini to him) and holding on to my leg.  If Matt was not with me I would have been like okay I'm staying. I'm a sucker like that!

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was on Friday I took Matt on a Sunset Cruise for our anniversary. Pretty huh?

So I moved in the right direction this week by going down 1 lb. I was so good this week and I was hoping for better results but I'll take what I can get. I didn't eat out out very much at all this week and I logged everything I ate. I also worked out 4 times. I did Zumba, ran twice, and did a Body Combat class at my new gym. The Body Compact class was really just kickboxing. It's a great class for a workout and to get any frustrations out. You just punch and kick it all out. Zumba this week wasn't the best. It was with a different instructor and she was good just a completely different style. The usual instructor plays all kinds of music and has major high energy. Last night was all Latin music and dancing which I guess is what Zumba is really more suppose to be.

Tonight I am going to a beginning Yoga class. I'm not very flexible so this should be interesting. Then tomorrow I'm going to try a Body Jam class which I think is like Cardio Dance. I'm all about the classes these days. They keep me motivated and moving for longer.

This weekend Matt and I are headed to the beach for our anniversary. Should be fun. We are bringing stuff for lunch and I'll just have to keep my other meals in check and make sure to workout. Our hotel offers Yoga on the lawn in the mornings so depending on how tonight goes maybe I can do that.

Fill in the Blank Friday

So I stole this from Making Stuff is Fun and she got it from The Little Things We Do. A perfect Friday post for when I don't want to be creative and come up with my own post. 

1. My favorite thing about this week has been being at the beach last weekend and not working on Monday.

2. The weather this week has been crazy hot and humid. My car read 108 degrees the other day. Too hot!


3. The last (interesting) item I received in the mail this cool new coupon organizer . The year of savings has begun so we can have a day of spending (ie wedding).

4. The last movie I saw was Princess Bride but I didn't get to finish watching it because our blockbuster DVD messed up. We have a new copy now so maybe I'll finish it this weekend.

5. If I could be doing anything I felt like today I would be at my sister's house hanging out with my niece and nephew. I haven't seen them enough lately. Good thing I'm having a sleep over at their place tonight.

6. As a teenager I was way too moody. My mom told people that they just needed to ignore my behavior for a few years. Thanks mom!

7. I wish I could trade lives for the day with a bride on My Fair Wedding so David Tutera could plan my wedding and it would be amazing, I could just show up, and the best part it would be free!

It's time for some major changes around here! I gained again and not just gained but gained 2.6 lbs. I really did not have my head in the game. I ate whatever I wanted whenever I wanted.  I was on vacation and somehow translated that to vacation from eating healthy. Then when I got back I figured I already messed up the rest of the week so what was the point of being better for 1 more day? Terrible attitude I know. I am moving forward and making changes! I felt so awful when I got on the scale this morning. For about 1 minute I contemplated not blogging and taking a hiatus from the blog but I knew that would go no where positive and that I needed to own up to my actions.

As of this morning I'm back on the wagon and being very conscious of following WW points and working out. I thought with my attitude change and recommitted to getting in shape I would also change the background of my blog. Do you like?

I worked out 3 times this past week. My workouts were 2 runs and 1 strength/ cardio group workout class at my new gym. Yup after my sinful weekend I came home Monday and went straight to the gym.  I was really impressed with a gym that is close to me. It was really well kept up, clean, nice staff, and they have over 45 group exercise classes a week. I hope this will help change my workouts up some and keep me from getting bored.   My goal for this week is 2 workout 5 times. I want to get 3 runs in, 1 Zumba class, and try 1 new workout class.
